Re: SAP Portal and Usage Types possible

Hi,

There are workload/performance doubts from our basis guys running all components on the same Portal. I always thought the main workload even for BI is in the Backend (ABAP System) and only the display is done in Portal via components processed in the backend.

There is huge load on the portal and if you go with this case you will have issue across all the other components.

Below are some of the example what all issues can happens and why.

1515139 - Frequent WEB AS JAVA out of memory crashes and/or core dumps due to large BI data access queries.

1913710 - BI Java Memory Improvements for NW 7.30

So as mentioned earlier you need to check what kind of reports are downloaded from your BI portal and check the sizing.
